Responsible for maintain good operating condition of machinery used in the manufacturing work area and systems assigned. Cleans and organizes work area according to production and safety standards. Mentors junior mechanics as needed.
Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintain machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing process according to standards.
- Troubleshoots instrumentation, controls (PLC, AC/DC variable speed drive), and electrical issues surrounding the operation of Production equipment.
- Checks and inspects all equipment periodically to determine the need for repair or preventative maintenance.
- Carries out preventive maintenance on production equipment, or systems as required by Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Cleans and organizes work place to ensure both operating and safety conditions.
- Documents all work performed; complies with acceptable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) standards.
- Provides coverage for other mechanics and helpers as within his abilities, such as daily readings, changing expendable items and other tasks as requested by the Group Leaders.
- Helps to attain “FUTURE” goals of the maintenance department and the facility by contributing ideas and suggestions.
- Contributes to the production of a quality product which requires quality equipment maintained and updated by the maintenance department.
- Uses critical thinking skills to determine possible causes of equipment failures.
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Responsible to communicate with employees and management as to potential problems that need addressing or opportunities that may be acted upon.
Requirements
- Must have good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Must have three years experience in a highly technical environment.
- Must have a high school education and be able to read, write and perform mathematics at a level to be able to complete technical work.
